The Upper Body Symphony Walk

Let a small opposite arm movement follow each step.

Starting Position

Begin on a clear path. Relax your shoulders and hands. Learn the Basic Walk first.

Step-by-Step Movement Instructions

  1. 1Take a short step with the left foot. Let the right arm move a little forward.
  2. 2Let the left arm ease back without pulling it.
  3. 3Step with the right foot and allow the left arm forward.
  4. 4Let the small arm movements follow. Leave your hands soft and your chest comfortable.

Practice Duration

One minute. Leave the arms quiet whenever you need to think about your feet.

Breathing Cue

Natural breathing. No need to time each arm swing to a breath.

Supported & Seated Variation (Path A)

Keep one hand on a counter; let the free arm move gently. Seated: alternate the arms without stepping.

What to Notice During Practice

Let the arms follow instead of pulling your body into the next step.

When to Stop Immediately:

Shoulder pain, numbness, dizziness, or uncertain balance.

Sit down safely if you feel light-headed or unsteady. There is never any reason to push through pain or discomfort.

“Leave room between the foot tracks. A narrow-looking illustration is not a reason to cross your feet.”
