The Breath-and-Weight Pause

KEY POINT — Feel a small weight shift while your breathing stays easy.

Starting Position

Stand beside a fixed counter. Rest your hands lightly on it. Keep both feet hip-width apart.

Step-by-Step Movement Instructions

  1. 1Take one ordinary breath. Notice the pressure under both feet.
  2. 2As you breathe out, shift a little toward the right foot. Keep the left foot down.
  3. 3Pause for one easy breath. Keep your shoulders and knees relaxed.
  4. 4Return to center, then repeat toward the left.

Practice Duration

Three shifts each way, about one minute.

Breathing Cue

Breathe normally. Do not lengthen the breath to match the shift.

Supported & Seated Variation (Path A)

Sit with both feet flat and make the same small pressure changes.

What to Notice During Practice

Both feet stay down and your trunk stays upright.

When to Stop Immediately:

Dizziness, pain, or a sudden need to grab the counter.

Sit down safely if you feel light-headed or unsteady. There is never any reason to push through pain or discomfort.

“This is a weight-shift drill, not a balance hold.”
