The Three Point Release
Let the shoulders, hands, and jaw soften before you begin.
Starting Position
Sit with feet supported, or stand beside a fixed support. Let your arms rest.
Step-by-Step Movement Instructions
- 1Take an ordinary breath and notice your shoulders.
- 2As you breathe out, let the shoulders settle. Don't press them down.
- 3On the next out-breath, uncurl your fingers and soften your palms.
- 4On another out-breath, let your back teeth separate slightly. Keep the jaw easy.
Practice Duration
One release sequence, then repeat if useful. About one minute.
Breathing Cue
No counting. Release tension without forcing a longer breath.
Supported & Seated Variation (Path A)
Sit throughout, hands resting on your thighs.
What to Notice During Practice
See whether one area feels less tense. All three don't have to change.
Light-headedness, pain, or unusual breathlessness.
Sit down safely if you feel light-headed or unsteady. There is never any reason to push through pain or discomfort.
