The Tai Chi JingFlow Closing Form

Finish deliberately and notice whether your breath is settling.

Starting Position

Stand beside support or sit. Feet comfortably apart. Slow your movement before becoming still.

Step-by-Step Movement Instructions

  1. 1Float the arms outward and upward only as far as comfortable.
  2. 2Lower the hands in front of the body toward the belly.
  3. 3If standing, adjust the feet to a comfortable stance. Leave them hip-width apart if that feels steadier.
  4. 4Rest the hands near your belly and take three ordinary breaths. Keep your eyes open.

Practice Duration

Three closing breaths, about 30 seconds.

Breathing Cue

Natural breathing. Avoid a deliberately large inhale.

Supported & Seated Variation (Path A)

Sit and use a small arm sweep. Hands may stay on your thighs instead.

What to Notice During Practice

Wait until you feel steady enough to move on to the next task.

When to Stop Immediately:

Chest symptoms, dizziness, unusual breathlessness, or feeling unwell.

Sit down safely if you feel light-headed or unsteady. There is never any reason to push through pain or discomfort.

“Bringing the feet closer, as shown, is optional. Keep a wider stance if it's steadier.”
